The Country's Manufacturing Output Rose by 3.4 Percent Compared to The Same Month of 2011

According to the preliminary data released by Statistics South Africa, in November 2012 the country's manufacturing output rose by 3.4 percent compared to the same month of 2011, while the seasonally adjusted manufacturing production is estimated to have increased by 2.3 percent compared to October.

In South Africa, the seasonally adjusted production of basic iron and steel products in November increased by 14.2 percent compared to October, while the actual production index of basic iron and steel products saw a decrease of 2.5 percent year on year.

However, for basic iron and steel products, the estimated seasonally adjusted sales of manufactured products (at current prices) in November last year increased by 8.3 percent month on month, amounting to ZAR 8.3 billion ($958 million).
