Community Recycling Announced The Unveiling of Their New Corporate Brand Identity

Community Recycling, a for-profit recycler of textiles with a focus on reuse, officially announced the unveiling of their new corporate brand identity, with the roll out of a brand new website and not one, but three new programs. Refreshing the company brand, with new ways to recycle and a significant web re-design clearly communicates a bold new approach to an ancient industry.

“The idea of rebranding Community Recycling was raised as we began creating ways for people everywhere to recycle with us,” said Ira Baseman, president of Community Recycling. “We knew timing was critical to make this change, and we quickly realized that spring and Earth Day would be the perfect occasion to release our most robust update to our program offerings in our company’s history.”

Community Recycling holds REUSE at the core of their mission, literally reinventing how people do clothing recycling. With the US EPA telling us that only 15% of US residents participate, they knew they had their work cut our for them.

“We decided to start with the need to disrupt the anonymity that is so rampant in the clothing recycling world. We are confident that we needed awaken the hearts and emotions behind the act of clothing recycling,” said Lisa Pomerantz, VP of Marketing and Business Development for Community Recycling. “We want very much to inspire the part of ‘us’ that seeks connection and elevate that feeling through the act of recycling your gently used clothes, shoes and bags.”

With the new programming, Community Recycling baked the tools of social media into the DNA with content that is visual, fun, engaging and enlightening. They’ve even created a new video show to invite other opportunities for recycling education. Adding social connectivity, a world of convenience, transparency and overall good feeling, Community Recycling is helping you to ‘share forward’ your things. Here are the newest recycling programs:

ShoeBox Recycling

Recycle your shoes, Find Your SoleMate.

The ancient mystique of ‘message in a bottle’ comes to life with this shoe recycling platform that started this past year. The goal is to have recyclers think about the people who will be wearing their shoes in the near future - the SoleMates. By bringing humanity into the recycling equation, people consider the reusability and re-wear-ability of their shoes before placing them in the box for recycling. Groups (schools, non-profits, brands, retailers and large employers) receive boxes that are pre-labeled with free shipping. Individuals use their own box, and get free shipping. Everyone who recycles has the opportunity to find SoleMates in destinations all over the globe. To date over 1400 groups across 46 states have collected over 500,000 lbs. of shoes, raising funds, seeking SoleMates and creating happy feet along the way.
