Automated Packaging Systems (APS) has launched a new fully-integrated counter and bag packaging system for high speed counting and packaging of small products.
The Data Count U 162 Counter from DATA Detection Technologies has been customized to work with the Autobag 500 bagger to enhance productivity and dependability for bag packaging applications that need speed and precision.
APS’ new system can count up to 25,000 objects per minute with the support of a hopper, vibratory feed track system and an advanced mathematical algorithm.
The Data Count U-162 can accurately detect variable shaped products between 0.5mm and 25mm in size.
Without the need for product separation, the advanced vision system holds capacity to count multiple items simultaneously.
Autobag pre-opened bags-on-a-roll are available in different sizes and styles, and can be used in various applications such as hardware and fasteners, hobby and craft items, electronics, automotive, aerospace, agriculture, precious stones and others.
APS global marketing director Chris Rempe said: “The custom engineering team at Automated Packaging Systems worked closely with the R&D team and engineers at DATA Technologies to design a user-friendly bag packaging system with unmatched speed and accuracy.
“The new DATA Count U-162 and Autobag 500 combine to reduce labor costs and improve productivity of any operation that needs to package large quantities of small products.”
Separately, APS collaborated with ABB to incorporate the Autobag 500 bagging system with ABB’s YuMi robot.
The YuMi robot will help to assemble and package small parts and kits on the Autobag 500.
Through utilizing motion control and camera-based parts location, the YuMi will pick and place products into pre-opened bags, which are then automatically sealed and dispensed by the Autobag 500.
