Sabre’s Managing Director, David Malin, noticed that there was a need for a new Siltbuster unit made specifically for the hydro-demolition market and took his ideas to Siltbuster who were happy to help develop a unit that would meet the needs of companies within the industry.
The brief was to create a single unit that was able to filter out the suspended solids and correct the PH of run-off water generated from the process of hydro-demolition, the removal of concrete using high pressure water. Siltbuster already had the technology to perform both operations but the two separate units where overmatched against the volumes of water generated from the jetting operation. In addition to this, hire and transport costs plus a lack of mobility meant that the two unit solution was not always financially viable for short term or multi-location projects. The development of the single Siltbuster HD Unit which has the capability of both automated PH correction and filtration of suspended solids means there is now a practical and cost affective answer to water treatment on these types of projects. Where in the past a Main Contractor may have looked to employ a third party to remove run-off water from site using a tanker (at great expense), Sabre Jetting Services Ltd are now able to treat the run-off water using the Siltbuster HD Unit and discharge it on site with the consent of the Environment Agency. The minimal dimensions and weight of the Siltbuster HD Unit also ensure that it fits perfectly on to the back of a pickup truck, meaning that transport both to and around site are no longer a problem.
Sabre Jetting Services Ltd already owns two of the Siltbuster HD Units and is pleased to announce that they, along with Siltbuster, will be the only company able to hire out the Siltbuster HD Unit.
