Related ministries and commissions are inspecting ban imposed on sale of game machines for 13 years and considering reopening game machine market, according to an official in China's ministry of culture cited by media yesterday.
The ban is results discussed by ministry of culture and other ministries in June, 2000. It aims to protect youngsters’ physical and mental health because regulators worry electronic game arcade will make public disorder.
In the past few years, Game machines makers all over the world are seeking ways to enter Chinese market. In 2004, SONY’s PlayStation struggled to enter Chinese market on behalf of other devices but ended in failure.
Does it mean that repealing the ban is possible? The result may be still discouraging.
