KBA-Flexotecnica has demonstrated its new Neo XD LR Hybrid web press designed for all typical ink systemsFlexodruck with water-based inks at the Drupa 2016 held in Germany.
The Neo XD LR Hybrid is the CI flexo press designed to print solvent-based, water-based and radiation-cured ink systems such as UV-LED or EB inks on the most varied substrates.
With up to 12 printing units, the CI system has printing lengths up to 1,200mm, a maximum printing width of 1,650mm and a maximum production speed of 500m/min.
Additionally, the press' design allows the retrofitting of other dryer systems to meet consumers' requirement.
Separately, at Drupa, KBA has signed two deals with Glasgow-based J Thomson Colour Printers for the supply of a six-color Rapida 106 plus coater with LED UV and a conventional ten-color Rapida 106 perfector for 5/5 printing.
J Thomson offers brochures, magazines and many other kinds of printed literature to financial, educational and arts institutions as well as for government bodies and design agencies.
Featuring KBA's automation technologies including DriveTronic SPC and DriveTronic SIS sidelay-free infeed, the ten-color Rapida 106 is designed to reduce waste and makeready times, and enhance production.
The KBA's ten-color Rapida 106 press has also been selected by Druckerei Chmielorz at Drupa 2016.
Additional features of the press include special accessory packages for lightweight stocks and high-speed production up to 18,000sph, and QualiTronic ColorControl for inline quality assurance.
KBA-Flexotecnica is engaged in manufacturing ultra-modern CI flexo web presses for printing on paper, card, films and other flexible packaging materials.
