Italian Plantmaker Danieli Has Won an Order Worth$100 Million

Italian plantmaker Danieli has won an order worth$100 million for supply of equipment for new steelmaking facilities to be built in Oman.Renato Pezzano,vice president of Danieli and its sales manager for the Indian market,commented,"This is a supply of premium technology for the customer Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel,a subsidiary of India-based steelmaker Jindal Steel and Power Limited,"The supply agreement is part of a project by Jindal Shadeed to build from scratch a plant for the smelting and processing of steel in Oman,with a total investment of$200 million.

Specifically,Danieli will provide continuous casting machines to melt steel and equipment to roll metals."The contract consists of two phases,"stated Pezzano,adding,"By spring 2014,we will complete the construction of the plant machinery for smelting,while the rolling equipment is still in the engineering design phase and its implementation will start in 2015."Danieli stated that the order strengthens its presence in the Middle East.
