China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest carbon steel producer in Taiwan is going to announce new price for its March wire rod on January 13rd. Market participants expected that CSC would hike its list prices.
However, it is difficult to predict the price rise CSC will make.
Previously, it is expected that CSC might hike prices by NT$300~NT$500/ton. Nevertheless, stimulated by China steel mills’ price hike, CSC is forecasted to increase the prices by NT$500~NT$600/ton.
Affected by this, most of CSC's downstream customers suggest CSC not to increase too much as the demand is not stable enough.
