CCDA Encourage You to Share Your Trade Expertise and Knowledge

December 19, 2012 - Are you interested in getting involved in the development of national occupational standards and examinations? If you are a qualified holder of a Red Seal, the Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA) encourage you to share your trade expertise and knowledge.

One of the principles of the Red Seal Program is that the tools it produces are based on the needs of Canadian industry. Whenever a new occupational standard, training guide or interprovincial Red Seal examination is developed, it is industry that informs the content, says Red Seal.

Most of the industry representatives who provide the expertise to develop these tools are identified by provincial and territorial apprenticeship authorities through their apprenticeship system networks. The apprenticeship authorities nominate experts to attend national consultation workshops, who may also be asked to review and comment on standards and examinations in their own province or territory.

If you are actively working in your trade or are a trades instructor, and are interested in participating in one of these workshops—or would like to help with reviews—please see the information on the Red Seal website and contact us. Your information will be forwarded to your provincial/territorial apprenticeship representative who will contact you if you are selected to attend one of the national workshops, or called upon for jurisdictional tasks related to national standards.
