Hospital Staff Can View The Inside of The Carriers Before They Open Them

Pneumatic tube systems (PTS) provider in the US, Pevco has selected Eastman Chemical Company’s Tritan copolyester for its pneumatic tube carrier TEC-6. The material offers the durability needed for the constant handling and transporting of drugs and specimens.

PTS will be used by hospitals to deliver small materials such as pharmaceuticals, lab specimens and blood products.

Pevco product development and marketing director Steve Dahl said a busy hospital sends more than 5,000 items per day through its PTS.

"The Pevco TEC-6 is a significant improvement over carriers currently on the market, as it's more durable and ergonomic and easier to track," Dahl said.

With the crystal-clear clarity of Eastman Tritan copolyester, hospital staff can view the inside of the carriers before they open them. The material also gives a flexible, easily gripped surface to the device body, which improves its ergonomics, making it easy to use for hospital staff.

According to Eastman, the markets for the TEC-6 include North America, South America, Asia and the Middle East.
