LG Shed Light on a Host of New Wi-Fi Enabled Speakers to Complement Music Flow Line-up

LG just shed light on a host of new Wi-Fi enabled speakers to complement its Music Flow line-up.

The new, battery powered, wireless speakers were just shown off at this week's CES 2015 expo in Las Vegas.

Tim Alessi, LG's Director of New Product Development, talked up the new audio fare, saying: "Now you can pump up the energy in the kitchen or set an entirely different vibe in the dining room simultaneously."

Alessi confirmed that the Music Flow line-up would work with Google's newly announced Google Cast for Audio.

The connected speakers include the LG H4, the firm’s first battery-powered Wi-Fi speaker along with three sounders and three wired music speakers. The range will help LG’s quest to rival Sonos in the multi-room audio arena.

Music can be transferred to the speakers via the LG Music Flow app for iOS and Android. Those apps play nice with apps like Spotify, iHeartRadio, Rhapsody and TuneIn, while the Auto Play feature will automatically transfer the audio to the speakers whenever they’re in range.

Music Flow speakers can also be controlled via text, thanks to the LINE messaging app and integration with the LG Home Chat tool. You can use the app to text “Good night” to the speakers and volume will be reduced for a few minutes before stopping.

The new speakers will go on sale in the first quarter of the year. We’ll have more on the individual products pricing very soon.
