The rigid plastics specialist said that this latest investment is to be used for the purchase of two Novapax NSB 650/110 IBM machines.
Moulds, infrastructure changes and the recruitment of an experienced specialist process engineer also form part of the investment programme.
This latest announcement follows swiftly on the back? of Sone securing some £250,000 of RGF funding enabling the manufacturer to carry out? infrastructure changes to its plant and purchase new injection moulding machinery, taking delivery of a 150 tonne Arburg 520E all electric machine.
According to manufacturing manager, David Clemes, Sone opted for Novapax machinery because of the supplier's demonstrable experience and the reliability of its equipment within the colour cosmetics sector.
He said: "Introducing IBM complements our existing EBM capabilities, greatly enhancing what we can offer our growing client base.?With both EBM and IBM we can provide more flexibility and satisfy differing demands of our existing and new clients.
"Further to the purchase of the equipment, a major part of the investment and of equal importance will be in the implementation of a complete training package to bring existing technicians fully up to speed with the technology and new machines.? This accords customers the peace of mind they have come to expect when working with Sone, that only fully trained staff will work on their behalf to produce products of the highest quality."
