Bury Developed a High Quality Polyester Lidding

UK-based Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury has developed a high quality polyester lidding solution for the new The Lake District Dairy range of quark based stir-in cooking sauces.

These 50 micron polyester co-extruded lids cover a range of three, high impact, eight-colour designs.

Clondalkin specialises in manufacturing pre-cut lid and is a supplier of choice in shrink sleeve production.

British quark was introduced to the UK market by the Lake District Dairy as a healthy cooking ingredient in April 2013. The company claimed that since then, the ingredient has become one of the fastest growing categories in cheese this year.

Brand manager from First Milk, producers of The Lake District Dairy range Claire Irvine said: "We introduced this new range of stir-in sauces to cater for the increased demand for healthy, convenient home cooking and it's a natural extension to our award winning quark range. It's a competitive market, on shelf stand out is key so the quality of the packaging is fundamental to success on the shelves.

"We already work with Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury as they produce a premium lidding solution for our Quark range, and as such were the natural choice for this project. We are delighted with the outcome as it looks fantastic and fits with our desire to minimise packaging through the low gauge material."

Lake District Dairy's cooking sauce line-up will be available in the chilled goods dairy cabinets of supermarkets nationwide this autumn.

Clondalkin Flexible Packaging Bury Ken Dunlop said: "The complexity of producing a job like this is often overlooked as the lid is just one aspect of the packaging. Colour consistency is critical and not easy to achieve, especially on an 8 colour job.
