Molson Recalls New Cider Drink After Glass Contaminants Were Found in One If Its Batches

Molson is recalling its new cider drink after glass contaminants were found in one if its batches.

The beer-maker said the amount is lower than the CFIA guidelines, but they pulled the product as a precautionary measure.

"We're voluntarily withdrawing the product as we always want to ensure consumers enjoy our brands in perfect condition," tweeted the company.

Spokesman Gavin Thompson said glas was found in four empty bottles during a quality inspection before any cider was poured into the bottles.

"The reason we did this is because we found, in a small amount of [empty] bottles, a very low level of glass particulate," he said. He described it as dust-like.

He said no customers have reported finding any glass in the product.

Molson urged people to return any bottled Molson Canadian Cider for a full refund. He said cider in cans and other Molson products are fine.

The drink is only sold in Ontario and Nova Scotia.
