IO Informatics has launched IO Healthcareis,extending the company's life sciences platform,Sentient,into precision medicine applications,which include biomarker discovery,clinical trial optimization and decision support.
IO Healthcare is expected to enable the earlier application of clinical information to increase research and development by adding clinical,genomic,metabolic and proteomic information to the platform's existing repository of public resources.
IO Informatics president and chief executive officer Robert Stanley said now,with IO Healthcare,the company directly addresses the challenges of taking molecular data into clinical applications to realize precision medicine.
"With the growing availability and decreasing cost to integrate and query data from genomics and other molecular biology and clinical applications,IO Healthcare is a natural extension for both our Sentient platform and our customers,who have been using IO in their research for many yearsm,"Stanley added.
The company's semantic framework applies content from patient records and phenotypic information such as gene,protein and metabolic variables relevant to all stages of research,which includes early stage experimentation to precision medicine.
IO Informatics has appointed Bill Hayden to lead the IO Healthcare's extension.
