Pakistan Joined in Series of Fire Safety Seminars and Training Courses Organized by WRAP

Around 150 textile and garment firms of Pakistan participated in a series of fire safety seminars and training courses organized by Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP).

The seminars were conducted with an objective to meet vital fire safety and risk assessment needs of the Pakistani textile and apparel industries.

The sessions focused on issues like fire safety and protection, usual fire prevention measures, fire spread and combustion, and apt measures during fire and risk assessment. Feasible models for evacuation and pre-planning models like fire drills also formed a part of the training session.

Pakistan’s fire safety laws and fire-fighting sessions were also covered during the sessions.

Training sessions were organized both in Karachi and Lahore in association with the SITE Association Karachi, Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association and Pakistan Readymade Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association.

The first session of the series was conducted in mid-December last year in association with the Accordia Global Compliance Group. The final session was held last week in Karachi.

Director of WRAP’s Bangladesh Liaison Office, Saifullah Khawaja served as lead trainer for the sessions.
