THE world's peak internet naming authority is expected to approve hundreds of new generic top-level domain suffixes over the coming months, with .melbourne expected to beat .sydney to the web.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers has revealed the first 27 of the so-called generic top-level domains (gTLD) to receive initial approval to operate alongside long-standing names such as .com, .org and .net.
