As reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in July this year the producer prices of industrial products in Germany decreased by just 0.1 percent compared to June this year and were up 0.5 percent compared to July 2012.
In July, prices of consumer non-durable goods in Germany increased by 2.9 percent compared to July 2012, while prices of intermediate goods were down one percent from a year earlier, marking the fourth consecutive month of year-on-year decline. Excluding energy, producer prices of industrial products fell 0.1 percent in July of the current year compared to June and rose by 0.5 percent compared to July 2012.
In July, intermediate goods in Germany were 0.4 percent lower compared to June. German producers' prices for basic metals in July this year indicated a decrease of 6.2 percent year on year and were down 1.4 percent from June this year. In July, German producers' rolled steel prices fell by 6.9 percent, while rebar prices in Germany were eight percent lower, both compared to the same month of 2012.
