In the first nine months of this year, French crude steel output decreased by 1.27 percent year on year to 11,901,000 mt, according to the latest data released by the French Steel Federation (FFA). In the given period, electric arc furnace (EAF) output fell 10.93 percent to 4,180,000 mt, while blast furnace (BF) output increased by 4.89 percent to 7,721,000 mt, both year on year.
In September this year, French crude steel production amounted to 1,373,000 mt, up by 7.43 percent year on year. In September, crude steel production in France using EAFs decreased by 11.68 percent year on year to 514,000 mt, while crude steel production using BFs totaled 859,000 mt, rising by 23.42 percent year on year.
