West African Minerals Has Found 3 Areas of Potential High Grade Iron Ore

West African Minerals has found 3 areas of potential high grade iron ore from its latest scout drilling program at Binga, Cameroon.

Mr Brad Mills CEO of West African's said that the enrichment grades were as high as 50% iron over narrow intervals, adding that he was hopeful of identifying significant quantities of enriched mineralization as drilling densities increase.

The enriched areas were low in aluminium, phosphorous and sulphur suggesting that the material is likely to be a commercially attractive product, while their location at between 40 kilometer to 100 kilometer east of the planned deep water Kribi port should provide for easy access to shipping.

Mr Mills said that "We have tested approximately 15% of the total estimated strike length of the banded iron formations within the Binga lease. This preliminary test has validated our geophysical model and encountered encouraging iron enrichment in a number of areas."

He said that "The next steps for this portion of the Cameroon project will be to conduct preliminary metallurgical studies and resource definition drilling."

He added that "In addition, we have now progressed to scout drilling on the very large magnetic features in south eastern Cameroon where we are hopeful to demonstrate large scale high grade iron mineralization."

West African Minerals carried out 114 reverse circulation holes covering 5,581 meter at 100% owned Binga.

The programme is part of a 20,000 meter planned scout drilling exploration program to test WAFM's major geophysical anomalies on the Binga, Lélé and Djadom leases.

At Djadom South, the company is testing large magnetic features interpreted as regionally extensive BIFs similar to those hosting the neighboring Mbarga deposit.
