Spectra Packaging Begins Expansion Work on UK Manufacturing Facility

Spectra Packaging has started expansion work at its manufacturing facility in Suffolk, UK.

The company said groundwork foundations have been set for new steel structures at its 17.4-acre site.

Building work is expected to be completed by the end of this year and the company plans to start the facility's operations by the end of April 2018.

The company’s expansion plans will increase its size by another 50%, with the existing site increasing an extra 24,000ft² to 80,000ft² in total.

Spectra’s vision for the site includes three further units to accommodate future growth.

The company hasn’t revealed the amount of investment it is putting for the expansion, although it has termed it as “substantial”.

Spectra managing director Joe Maynard said: “Spectra are well placed as a genuine independent force within the industry. Making sure we have the capacity to continually provide outstanding quality, service and innovation is vital in maintaining our reputation.

“The fact that we have the trust of a number of leading high street brands is proof of our credentials to deliver and further expansion will help us maintain this”.

Established in 2017, Spectra Packaging is focused on plastic packaging. It manufactures products that range from versatile packaging in HDPE to glass-like containers in PET.

It also manufactures various closures which is claimed to be perfectly complimenting its bottle range and recycled plastic packaging in both PET and HDPE.
