Bindaree Beef Takes Home Four Medals From Australian Food Awards

The ASX-listed Bindaree Beef Group has won four medals at the 2016 Australian Food Awards held in Melbourne this week.

From a field of over 25 entries, Bindaree’s Cape Byron Angus Beef won the gold medal for the Branded Beef competition. The premium MSA graded grass fed black angus was rated highly by the judges for its juiciness and flavour.

Bindaree’s free range, grass fed Mayfield Beef won a silver medal, its second for the year after winning one at the 2016 Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show in May. The company’s Highland Park grass fed beef and Prestige grain fed MSA beef both received bronze medals.

Head of Marketing at the Bindaree Beef Group, Shannon Roach, said the awards followed on from its twelve medal win in 2015.

“We are proud to achieve industry awards as a recognition of the consistent quality beef produced at Bindaree Beef, one of Australia’s largest meat processors and a prominent leader in the Australian meat industry,” Roach said.

The Australian Food Awards are conducted by the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria annually.

Bindaree Beef is based in Inverell in northern New South Wales and has been in operation for more than 60 years. The company has the capacity to process 1, 300 cattle per day and it employs over 600 people. Bindaree Beef says it is strategically located to ensure it can source cattle all 12 months out of the calendar year.
