It’s reported that the spot prices of heavy plates did not increase as well after the US steelmaker announced to hike the heavy plate prices by US$33/ton.
With the enough stock from the local stockiest, the customers were not hasting to purchase or purchase on large quantity, causing the price not increase in the spot market.
In the second half of July, the U.S. heavy plate price kept unchanged and the customer said that the mills were willing to secure the orders with the original price before August 1st.
From August, the mills had tried to lift the price for new orders and the transaction price did increase to some extent.
