The Export Value of Taiwan's Steel Falls by 6.4 Percent in July

According to the statistics released by the Taiwanese Ministry of Finance, in July this year Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel amounted to $1.45 billion, decreasing by 6.4 percent compared to the same month of 2012 and up 3.4 percent month on month. In July, Taiwan's import value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel was $925.8 million, up 0.8 percent over June and falling 14.7 percent compared to July 2012.

In the first seven months of this year, Taiwan's export value of iron and steel and articles made from iron and steel decreased by 5.5 percent year on year, amounting to $10.1 billion. Meanwhile, in the given period Taiwan's import value for the products in question decreased by 9.7 percent year on year to $6.8 billion.
