PET Packaging Specialist Petainer Launches Stand-Alone Business in Brazil

PET packaging company Petainer has established an independently operating business in Brazil in line with its expansion plans for the Latin American region.

Through its one-way PET kegs innovation, dubbed petainerKeg, the company is targeting the fast growing craft brewing industry in Brazil as well as domestic brewing giants.

Petainer is set to officially launch its footprint in the Latin American country at next month’s Brasil Brau at Sao Paulo Expo where it will be sharing the stand with its official distribution partner in Brazil in KHS.

The company plans to exhibit its one-way 20 and 30ltr petainerKeg. This, it claims is being used increasingly as a more economical and efficient alternative to conventional steel kegs and glass bottles by brewers around the globe.

Petainer group business development director Chris McEwan said: “Latin America is of strategic importance to Petainer, particularly in terms of growing our one-way PET keg business.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Ricardo Leonel Vieira who has excellent local market expertise and a successful track record in building businesses in the region.”

The one-way PET keg solution can be used only once, and is fully recyclable to reduce expensive logistics and washing processes.

Apart from the considerable cost of ownership and sustainability benefits, petainerKeg is claimed to deliver improved product protection. This, Petainer ensures that the beer retains its goodness even if it was brewed for more than nine months.

The PET packaging company has named Ricardo Leonel as its Brazil country manager who will handle the growth of the company’s share of the Brazilian market. Besides, Leonel will take care of maintaining relationships with existing partners and growing the distribution network in the country.

Vieira said: “Petainer is launching petainerKeg in Brazil to offer breweries the best quality, economical solution to protect and preserve the quality of their draught beer.  Our local presence ensures on-demand availability and supply assurance for brewers.”
