Berlin Packaging Expands Pittsburgh Operation with New Facilities

Berlin Packaging has opened a new integrated warehouse and assembly facility at Clinton Commerce Park, developed to expand operations in Pittsburgh region of Pennsylvania.

The new facility has been developed to support Berlin’s Qorpak laboratory supply and Dangerous Goods hazardous-material packaging divisions.

Clinton facility features around 300,000ft² of warehouse, kitting and assembly, and office space, which will help to meet the growing demand for products and services from both the divisions

Currently, Qorpak is operating in the Clinton facility, while Dangerous Goods is expected to begin operations in the middle of 2017.

Qorpak provides laboratory packaging, consumables and equipment to companies across the globe.

As part All-Pak acquisition, Berlin Packaging purchased Qorpak business in 2010.

Dangerous Goods, which was also acquired from All-Pak, provides packaging systems for the transport of hazardous and temperature-sensitive materials.

Berlin Packaging chief operating officer Larry Rydzewski said: “As a company we’re excited to see the meaningful and continued growth from our Qorpak and Dangerous Goods customers.

“The opening of this new Pittsburgh facility not only increases capacity, but it also generates even greater efficiencies in our operations.”

“This modern warehousing and logistics center will help us better serve our customers and give us the room we need to expand in the future.”

Berlin Packaging currently employs around 125 people in the Pittsburgh area.

Qorpak and Dangerous Goods divisions will also use other Berlin warehousing facilities across North America, in addition to Pittsburgh facility.
