The Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale four-seater has launched in Australia with two extra seats and a $20K lower price tag than the limited edition two-seater on which it’s based.
Maserati Australia has confirmed the addition of the four-seat GranTurismo MC Stradale to the local line-up, which tops the Italian coupe’s range alongside the MC Shift variant with a $345,000 starting price.
The pricing makes the MC Stradale four-seater $19,900 cheaper than the two-seat version that was sold in Australia in limited numbers from June 2011.
Despite adding 30kg over the base car, weight saving features, such as the introduction of a carbonfibre bonnet, ensure the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale four-seater retains the two-seater’s 4.5-second 0-100km/h acceleration ability, and actually has a 2km/h-higher top speed (303km/h) as a result of on-going development of the car.
Propelling it to those speeds is the most advanced iteration of Maserati’s 4.7-litre V8 that produces 338kW and 520Nm, which powers the rear wheels via a six-speed ‘MC Race Shift’ paddleshift transmission.
Unveiled at March’s Geneva motor show, the Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale four-seater is distinguished from the GranTurismo Sport by its unique front and rear bumpers, front guards, carbonfibre bootlid and new alloy wheel design.
New Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, custom-developed Pirelli tyres, a unique suspension layout and carbon shell front seats are also exclusive to the MC Stradale.
Carbonfibre and alcantara inspired by racing variants of the GranTurismo feature extensively in the cabin. The rear seats are upholstered with leather and alcantara, hand-stitched with red Maserati logos and equipped with a centre armrest, cup holders and individual reading lights.
Just 20 Maserati GranTurismo MC Stradale four-seaters will be made available to Australian and New Zealand customers, with the first deliveries now underway.
