Restoration Project for Ancient Town of Dukezong Progressing Well

Workers build a Tibetan-style house in the ancient town of Dukezong in Shangri-la county, Southwest China's Yunnan province, Oct 12, 2015. The general restoration project for the ancient town of Dukezong, which caught fire in January of 2014, has been progressing well. The whole project, worth 1.2 billion yuan (196 million US dollars), is expected to be finished in 2016. Dukezong, eastablished more than 1,300 years ago, is known for its Tibetan-style architectures. The fire that broke out in January of 2014 burnt nearly a fifth of the ancient town's core preservation area.
