US-based Perimeter Brand Packaging has introduced new BlenderPak, a single-serve and just-add-water package for powder drink mix.
BlenderPak, which has a rigid fitment inside that acts both as a gripping structure and mixing ball, is said to be an on-the-go solution for consumers.
According to the company, the package can be used for different powders, which need to be mixed with water such as protein, meal replacement, nutraceuticals, sugared beverages, and other powdered mix products.
Clumps of powder can be broken using the pack's MixingMesh technology to offer a smooth shake.
Consumer just needs to fill the pouch with water, shake and drink, as it is pre-filled with one serving of powder.
Perimeter Brand Packaging president Steve Callahan said the new product offers powder users a way to drink a fresh, cold drink wherever they want.
"While ready-to-drink shakes are convenient, keeping them cold all day, while on the go, is a challenge," Callahan added.
During the concept as well as final design verification phases, in the development and consumer insights process, the company worked with active protein powder consumers.
Most of the consumers intend to have healthy choices and say the convenience of BlenderPak will help them do that, according to the company.
Perimeter's consumer insights team conducted a study among 1000 consumers, in conjunction with ORC International, global market research firm, and carried out one-on-one sessions with fifty heavy protein powder users who tried the product.
Around 66% powder users said that they drink the product away from home at least four times a week.
