ADM Plans to Open a New Sweetener and Soluble-fiber Manufacturing Facility

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) is set to open a new sweetener and soluble-fiber manufacturing facility at the port of Tianjin in North China – the company’s first wholly-owned food ingredient production facility in China.

Approved by the Chinese authorities the new complex will involve in the production of sweeteners and soluble fiber, to be used to add dietary fiber to a variety of food and beverage products.

Construction of the sweetener facility is expected to be fully operational in early next year, while the soluble fiber facility is scheduled to be operational in the second half of 2015.

ADM Asia-Pacific vice president and president Ismael Roig said this new complex will position the company to help meet growing demand in China and Asia for high-quality food ingredients that can serve a wide variety of needs.

"Our Tianjin site's favorable location near large urban demand centers--along with its proximity to rail and water transportation and ready access to feedstocks--will allow it to be seamlessly integrated into ADM's global origination and transportation network, thereby enabling us to efficiently serve the needs of our valued customers in China and Asia," Roig added.
