VETROTECH SAINT-GOBAIN, leading USA-manufacturer of fire-rated glass and framing systems, announces the release of CONTRAFLAM? Ultimax. Contraflam Ultimax meets standards for detention (ASTM F1915), bullet resistance (Level 1-8, UL752) and forced entry (UL972).        

Vetrotech’s newest bullet resistant glass product is universally adaptable to Vetrotech’s VDS framing systems or any standard hollow metal frame systems with matching security and fire ratings.The flexibility of this product is an ideal fit for retrofits and new construction projects requiring fire-rated glass combined with ballistic protection. CONTRAFLAM Ultimax glass products are available in fire-ratings for up to 90 minutes when used with a fire-rated frame.

The CONTRAFLAM Ultimax glass product is a proprietary composition incorporating a glass-clad polycarbonate layer that combines the benefit of both fire and bullet resistance giving enhanced security performance and does not require an IGU make-up or laminated product, and eliminates the need for an additional glass pane or film.
