We’ve compiled some of the most important additions below, alongside the video itself for your viewing pleasure.

Football Manager 2017 release date – When is it coming out?

Football Manager 2017 is launching on November 4, 2016 for PC, Mac and Linux.

Football Manager 2017 Gameplay – What has changed?

Enhanced visuals, improved artificial intelligence and new camera angles have been introduced to make the act of watching your matches more immersive than ever. A new camera angle known as “Behind Goal Low” allows you to view player movements and trajectory of the ball like never before. AI managers and players are far more intelligent this time around, capable of making realistic, split-second decisions akin to those seen in real life.

Lighting, player models, animations and environments have all received substantial improvements, ensuring Football Manager fans are in for a visual treat later this year. Pre-match presentation has also been added so you can watch your players emerge from the tunnel and greet the opposing team before sprinting across the pitch. All player and league data has been updated, too, ensuring you’re only getting the latest and greatest football.

Social media will play an integral role in Football Manager 2017, acting as a vital tool when it comes to interacting with players, managers and fans in-between each match. The world of football is vast and uncompromising, and Sports Interactive hope to emulate the influence of social media on the sport best they can. Major news stories and transfer rumours will pop up online all the time, giving you hints as to who to sign and when.

Staff members will now give you hints and advice on what you should do when faced with a challenging match or uncooperative player. These interactions will feel fluid and dynamic, acting as direct visual representations of how conversations such as this would unfold in a living, breathing world. Replicating the world of contemporary football is what Football Manager does best, and this year’s iteration is no slouch in this department.

Transfers in Football Manager 2017 come with more consequences than ever before. Clubs and their respective players aren’t stupid, and will be fully aware of promises you fail to keep upon requesting to purchase a talented star. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to negotiate the best deal, slowly crafting a truly unique and unstoppable team as you climb the league tables.

Manager customization has seen some vast improvements. You can now select a variety of different outfits and colour combinations to suit your sense of style, regardless of whether you’re on the benches or out on the pitch. You can also create an in-game avatar by uploading a photo to the game, mapping your face onto a digital avatar for an extra touch of realism. It’s a bit terrifying, though.

When starting up Football Manager 2017 you’ll be able to choose from ‘Advanced’ and ‘Quick Start’ mode. The latter is a faster and more streamlined version of the game suitable for newcomers and those looking for a short and sweet session. Football Manager has proven to be quite daunting in the past, so this is a great addition.
