Parmalat, a supplier of milk products and fruit based drinks, has commissioned Sacmi’s new injection preform system (IPS) 220 to renew its Piana di Monteverna plant in Caserta, Italy.
Lactalis Group-controlled Parmalat has installed new IPS 220 to maximize performance and efficiency in manufacturing PET preforms for the milk sector.
The PET preforms are aimed at providing light, high-performing 1-litre bottles on the Italian market.
The IPS 220 is designed to provide complete, integrated platform, Sacmi said.
For Parmalat, the machine is offered with the all-Sacmi mould, a complete 48-cavity injection mould including hot half and cold half stems from painstaking in-company design of each component.
In addition to featuring high-efficiency cooling circuits, the injection mould facilitates heat exchange to provide ultra-high performance production cycles.
Sacmi said that the ultra-high performance production cycles of the injection mould was earlier demonstrated during the simulation and testing carried out jointly by the Sacmi Research Center and the Parmalat R&D facility.
Parmalat also invested in SACMI Total Care, the SACMI system designed to allow remote, predictive performance and process monitoring, anticipating problems.
It also provides appropriate solutions while eliminating the use of a specialized technician on-site.
Employing more than 27,000 people, Parmalat has 92 facilities in Europe, the Americas, Africa and Australia.
Sacmi is engaged in manufacturing machines and complete plants for the ceramics, packaging, food and automation industries. It also supplies the aluminium cap liner-making and application machine.
