Ocean Spray Opens a New Cranberry Receiving Station

US-based agricultural cooperative Ocean Spray has opened a new cranberry receiving station in Richmond, British Columbia, with an investment of $26m.

The new station is six kilometers away from the erstwhile Richmond receiving station and offers more convenient accessibility to growers, besides providing more space and capacity for operations.

The total daily capacity of the new facility will be over 3 million pounds, with annual capacity touching 100 million pounds.

Moreover, growers will see decreased wait times when delivering their crops to the receiving station. The facility is Ocean Spray's first new receiving station in 15 years.

Ocean Spray will utilize the cranberries for products such as Craisins Dried Cranberries and juice concentrate.
