In a world dominated by content, data allowances are one of the most important caps that affect our daily lives.
Three has announced a new 30GB data tariff that launches in the UK today.
What’s exciting is that the entire 30GB allowance can be used on tethered devices, giving users an impressive amount of data to spend on their laptops or tablets.
It’s a boon to those who don’t want to buy into separate cellular plans for different devices, and will reduce user dependence on Wi-Fi networks when out and about.
It’s tough to say exactly how quickly a user will burn through 30GB of data, but Three reckons it’s good for (1) 85 hours of standard definition video, (2) 725 hours of music, or (3) 1,200 hours of browsing the internet.
Prior to today, Three’s tariffs consisted of 500MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 12GB, and All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) data allowances. The latter, unsurprisingly, only allows 8GB of tethering.
“At Three we’re constantly looking to extend the range of different plans we offer, addressing the needs of our customers and consumers, by providing them with as much choice as possible when finding a data plan that’s right for them,” says Danny Dixon, Three’s director of customer strategy.
Dixon continues: “The introduction of this new 30GB tariff aims to do just that. It’s perfect for smartphone lovers that don’t want to commit to an All-You-Can-Eat data plan but still want to get the best out of their device and have the peace of mind, without fear of going over their monthly data allowance.”
Three is currently offering 30GB of data with AYCE minutes and texts for £30 per month on a 12-month contract.
You can get the same deal for £33 per month if you elect to purchase a one-month rolling contract instead.
