American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD) recently opened a distribution center in West Palm Beach, Fla. It is the company's 108th D/C in the United States.
ATD also has 24 distribution centers in Canada.
Based in Huntersville, N.C., ATD is the largest wholesale distributor in the U.S. American Tire Distributors Holdings Inc., which was purchased by TPG Capital L.P. in April 2010, owns 100% of the issued and outstanding capital stock of ATD. Tire Pros Francorp is a wholly owned subsidiary of ATD.
The parent company posted a net loss of $16.3 million on net sales of $840 million for its first quarter ended March 30, 2013. It recorded a loss of $11.2 million on sales of $955 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2013.
