Parmalat has acquired certain business operations from Italian dairy establishment Consorzio Cooperativo Latterie Friulane (Latterie Friulane).
The acquired operations encompass the activities engaged in the production, sales and distribution of dairy products such as pasteurized and UHT milk, yogurt, Montasio cheese, mozzarella and ricotta cheese, including the brands Latterie Friulane, Latte Carnia, SILP, San Giusto, Castello and Cometa.
The transaction also covers the acquisition of production facility and offices in Campoformido, buildings in Ponte Crepaldo, San Martino and Monfalcone, and the existing contracts.
Parmalat will continue to carry out and will expand the activities of Latterie Friulane, by implementing a plan designed to regain competitiveness and keep the Campoformido production facilities in operation and those that manufacture DOP (Protected Designation of Origin) products, while continuing to source raw milk locally in the Friuli region.
The Italian antitrust authority has been notified about the acquisition, which is subject to certain conditions.
