Leading global workwear brand Dickies announced the results of a recent study performed in the food service industry. The study was conducted by independent research firm ConsumerDNA and included interviews with more than 1,000 active industry professionals from fast food/quick service, casual dining or fine dining restaurants.
The study revealed that Dickies rates highest on quality, durability and comfort among food service professionals, which includes chefs, cooks, servers and greeters. A key finding in the study is that one in four restaurant workers wear Dickies pants on the job, outpacing competing brands 3-to-1. Restaurant workers also ranked Dickies as the “best brand” amongst their workwear choices, specifically due to key product features and benefits desired by the workers, as well as the overall value of Dickies workwear.
“For decades food service workers have trusted Dickies to get the job done both in the kitchen and front of the house, and we’re proud that we continue to be the brand of choice among today’s food service professionals,” said Alex Smith, senior vice president of occupational wear at Dickies.
As a food service industry leader, Dickies Occupational Wear continues seeking customer feedback to increase its offerings in the restaurant industry. The brand recently expanded its offerings to meet the needs of the thriving food service industry, as well as the addition of performance features to existing pieces for increased functionality and mobility.
“As a company, we are passionate about understanding the needs of our customers,” added Smith. “Our goal is to provide purpose-built workwear so that workers can focus on the job at hand. Our success in the food service sector is a credit to our brand, product quality, value and strong connection with the uniform wearer. We are proud to provide food service professionals with a head-to-toe uniform solution designed with the comfort and durability for which the Dickies brand is known.”
Food service workers are constantly on the go, which is why Dickies has added functionality to its Ultimate Server Pant. In order to help make the job of a server easier, this pant features wider, stronger belt loops for server keys, a large pocket to store an order pad and extra areas to store pens. This pant is designed with durable fabrics, a stain release finish and a contour waistband to prevent gapping in the back. The server pant is one of many garments Dickies has to offer the food service industry.
Chefwear, executive shirts and slacks; men’s, women’s and juniors’ shirts, shorts, and pants; and non-slip footwear are key offerings available to restaurant workers. The diverse and comprehensive nature of the line ensures a professional, consistent look throughout the restaurant.
“The next time you walk into a restaurant, take notice of the employees’ work attire,” said Smith. “There’s a good chance they’re wearing Dickies. We are humbled by the many food service employees that wear our brand to work every day and look forward to building on our success in the industry. You can trust that Dickies will continue to serve our customers with quality workwear and new product offerings for many years to come.”
