Moscow State University Hospital (MSU), Lomonosov has deployed Ekahau RTLS in its new hospital and adjacent teaching facilities. Established in 1755, the institute remains the most prestigious healthcare teaching facility in the Russian Federation.
The 300 bed in-patient facility which also treats over 400 out-patients daily, deployed the RTLS system in order to track and monitor key medical assets on campus. Staff can also request immediate location-enabled assistance and instantly communicate, in the event of a patient or staff emergency.
“MSU was looking for an innovative locating and communication system that would meet our needs as a state of the art teaching hospital” said Sergey Vasuk, Director of Information Technology at MSU. “Upon reviewing different options, Ekahau was chosen because of its unique offering. Ekahau RTLS was easy to install, yet provided the services and performance required,” he added.
“We are proud to have been selected by MSU because we share their vision of leveraging RTLS to improve operational efficiency and ensure the safety of all stakeholders,” said Tuomo Rutanen, EVP of Marketing at Ekahau.
The Ekahau RTLS system was deployed in cooperation with Ubitel, a leading St. Petersburg-based RFID and RTLS solution provider, as well as the Moscow-based IBS Group which is a leading Russian Systems Integrator.
