Drug wholesale company in the US AmerisourceBergen has announced that it is pursuing the sale of its contract pharmaceutical packaging business AndersonBrecon in Rockford, Illinois.
By selling its business, the company aims to concentrate on its businesses including pharmaceutical distribution, specialty and manufacturer services, bizjournals.com reported.
AmerisourceBergen, which is seeking buyers, is analyzing initial bids for AndersonBrecon.
In fiscal 2012, the company's net income increased by 1.7% to $719m compared to $706.6m in fiscal 2011.
AmerisourceBergen, which completed nearly $800m in acquisitions in 2012, paid down $392m in debt in the fourth quarter.
