Russia's Import Values of Ferrous Metal up by 2.3% Year on Year

Based on statistics released by Russian State Statistics Committee, Russia's import values of ferrous metal totaled US$2.886 billion in the first six months of current year, falling by 2.3% year on year.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Russian Moscow government nearly doubled public investment on housing for its 12 million residents in the two years to 2012 and plans to add more than 60 kilometers to the city’s metro system by 2015.

As per market analyst, the construction will account for a record 60% of Russian steel use this year, compared with just 27% in the European. Spending on homes and infrastructure will rise by 20% to US$107 billion this year
