Kingsmoor Provides Packaging Solutions for Irish Food Company Greencore

Kingsmoor Packaging, a Somerset-based thermoforming company, has developed food grade packaging solutions for Irish food company Greencore’s grab and go lunch options.

Kingsmoor has provided around four packaging solutions for 11of the grab & go lunch options of the Irish food manufacturer.

The thermoformed bowls, fabricated in either black or clear rPET, contain minimum of 50% post consumer recycled waste.

The bowls have either separate lids, or single web heat sealed polyester lidding film specially manufactured for salads or pasta recipes like Indian Spiced Chicken Salad and Tomato and Basil Pasta.

Kingsmoor Packaging managing director James Hill said: “Our strength within the FMCG marketplace is being able to provide a fast and responsive service from design through to the manufacturing stage, and then making sure everything is delivered on time for production trials and launch.

“With in-house tooling and design, operating in tandem with our state of the art modern production facilities, we are able to provide Greencore with a nimble, flexible and cost effective single source service.”

The flourishing 'UK food to go market' is forecasted to grow 35% by 2021. Against this backdrop leading grocery retailers are looking to fully maximise the opportunity by launching new and varied culinary ideas.

Kingsmoor Packaging has recently installed Atlas Copco’s GA90 VSD compressor in an effort to accelerate the production capacity and enhance energy efficiency.

Earlier this year, ASDA has released its 'flavors from around the world' food to go range with 40 new salads, grab boxes, wraps and snacks to serve customers.
