UEvolution, a luxury training and fitness gym in Los Angeles, is voicing its concerns on the industry, as its Owner Pascale Rothmann has called for a more stringent certification process for personal trainers.
"Anyone can obtain a personal training certification in as little as three months," Rothmann said. "There are some online services where an individual answers a brief series of questions and can get certified. It's wrong." Furthermore, Rothmann sees it as a rampant concern the fitness industry should be concerned with.
She continued, "This industry has exploded over the last 10-15 years, everybody is running to facilities like mine to fix their broken minds, bodies and spirit. We have so much power. We're dealing with many fragile people who desperately need help and we're doing a great job fixing them, renewing their zest for life and rekindling their confidence. Yet there needs to be more oversight like other industries. There is just too much dishonesty and pouching of clients that hurt reputable businesses like mine."
Rothmann spent more than $5 million establishing her UEvolution gym. She believes establishing oversight is the only way to remedy the issue.
