Color and inspection technology provider QuadTech is set to provide its closed-loop color control and color measurement systems for Switzerland-based Gallus Group’s offset, flexo and gravure presses.
The QuadTech technology will enable Gallus customers to improve print quality and productivity with in-line color management.
Said to be developed for offset printers, the QuadTech Color Control System with SpectralCam offers automated, in-line as well as closed-loop color control.
The system adjusts ink keys so as to maintain specified color targets and avoids waste and operator inaccuracies, on the fly and at full speeds.
In addition, the system supports flexo and gravure printers with in-line monitoring of all packaging substrates, comprising challenging translucent, transparent and reflective films.
Dr Thomas Weber responsible for supplier relationship management at Gallus Group said the company has wide market experience and broad customer base in the label printing industry.
"However, we recognized the opportunity to partner with QuadTech to provide our customers with state-of-the-art spectral color measurement and color control systems, with the automation to drive further reduction in make-readies and savings in valuable substrate waste," Weber added.
QuadTech packaging market manager Stephan Doppelhammer said, "Gallus and QuadTech are perfectly aligned in the drive to create solutions that maximize customer benefits and profitability."
QuadTech has developed web stabilizer to eliminate web movement and substrate corrugation issues. It will help in controlling color on problematic substrates such as films.
Web stabilizer also helps to provide exact color measurement on various thin, transparent and translucent films such as self-adhesive labels, monofoil labels, wet-glue and laminates.
