In the first six months of this year, Russia's ferrous metal export volume increased by 6.6 percent year on year to 19.56 million mt, worth a total of $10.3 billion, up 2.2 percent year on year, according to the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat).
In January-June this year, Russia's exports of ferrous metals to non-CIS countries increased by 8.6 percent to 16.8 million mt, worth a total of $8.66 billion, while its volumes of supplies to CIS countries decreased by four percent to 2.75 million mt, worth a total of $1.66 billion, both year on year.
In the first half of this year, Russia's ferrous metal imports decreased by 11.8 percent year on year to 2.8 million mt, worth a total of $2.6 billion, down 10 percent year on year.
