Austin Packaging (APC) is all set to cease the frozen pizza manufacturing sector of its business, which accounts for about half of its business, owing to the decline in customer demand within the pizza industry.
The company, which contract manufactures and packages shelf-stable, refrigerated, and frozen food products, has warehouses in Austin and Lakeville at present.
APC will continue to manufacture portion-control liquid containers of products such as cheese sauces, salad dressings, and fruit toppings after the frozen pizza manufacturing drops.
Versatile packaging will also be offered in flexible pouches, bowls, cups, and trays.
Following the termination of its business, the company will lay off 125 employees from its staff consisting of 250.
