Japanese carmaker Toyota Motor (TMC) has launched two new improved Porte and Spade minivans in the country.
The new minivans are offered with two powertrain options, which include a1.3 litre 1NR-FE engine and a 1.5 litre 1NZ-FE engine, both mated to a Super continuously variable transmission-intelligent (CVT-i) transmission.
According to the carmaker, the 1.5-litre front-wheel-drive models featuring an optional Stop & Start System idling-stop function deliver a fuel efficiency of 20.6 km/l.
The vehicle stability control feature of the new minivans controls brake and engine output to maintain vehicle stability during skidding, while traction control manages wheel spin to ease acceleration functionality.
The new minivans also feature ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) which enhances braking performance, with the EBD aptly distributing braking force in front, to the rear and on the left and right side wheels based on the driving conditions.
TMC said that the brake assist function produces additional braking force during emergency braking situations.
The Japanese carmaker said that Porte and Spade minivans are available across Japan with a price range between JPY1,450,000 ($18,522) to JPY1,910,000 ($24,398)
