Italy-based pharmaceutical packaging company Stevanato Group has invested €22m in a Mexican manufacturing plant to double its size.
Located in Cienega de Flores, Monterrey, Nuovo Leon, the manufacturing plant was opened in 2008.
The indoor facility, which now measures 12,000m2, will increase the production of glass containers for pharmaceutical use besides generating 300 jobs.
Mexican operation expansion follows commencement of work on the new production plant in China that began in November 2012 and is expected to offer 250 jobs.
The manufacturer of containers from glass tubing comprises two divisions, namely the glass division and the engineering division.
