Voith has been awarded a contract by Swedish pulp and paper manufacturer BillerudKorsn's to supply a fully equipped XcelLine board machine.
As part the contract, Voith will deliver the machine with an annual capacity of 550.000t. The machine will be installed at BillerudKorsnäs’ site in Gruvön, Sweden.
The machine will have capacity to produce liquid packaging board, carton board, food service board and white kraft liner at a speed of 1.200m/min.
Said to be one of the largest of its kind, the new XcelLine machine with a wire width of 8.800mm is scheduled to be commissioned in the first quarter 2019.
The new XcelLine machine is expected to be commissioned by the first quarter of 2019.
Voith will also deliver a three-ply wire section including a Duo DII hybrid former, equipped with two DuoShake units, a Tandem NipcoFlex shoe press with SolarPress roll cover and drying section equipped with EvoDry steel cylinders, along with the board machine.
Furthermore, multiple coating and calendaring stations and a VariFlex L winding unit will be delivered.
The contract scope also includes a Voith Papermaking 4.0 digital solution, which features OnEfficiency Forming and OnCare, offering full online control of all process data of the production line.
OnEfficiency Forming enables dewatering, retention and flocculation, while OnCare package ensures efficient maintenance of the entire paper machine.
The contract is part of BillerudKorsnäs’ effort to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions for food and beverages globally.
