ProPak Asia 2016 – Expanding Business Opportunities in Asia

ProPak Asia 2016 will be the 24th successful edition taking place from 15 to 18 June 2016 at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangkok, Thailand, and will be ProPak Asia’s Biggest-Ever edition in its long 24 year’s history. Expanding in line with growing demand and now covering all 7 halls (Halls 101 to 107) at BITEC.

The new ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) was born on 31 December 2015. The AEC aims to establish a more globally-competitive single market and boost economic ties between the countries through reducing tariffs and allowing a freer flow of labour and capital across nations. ASEAN’s 10 economies – Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam and Brunei – are a growing force in global affairs. With a gross domestic product of US$2.6 trillion, the AEC is the seventh-largest economy in the world. With a population of more than 620 million, it is the third largest in Asia after China and India. Regional trends in economic integration, export competitiveness and inbound investment for industries including agribusiness noted that the AEC is coming at a time when it is recognised that investment in emerging markets is more desirable than in the US and Europe. Ongoing discussions between the US and ASEAN members regarding the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) also increase the awareness and potential of this exciting and dynamic region.
